Select and Better grade include boards that are hand-picked one by one in order to obtain as uniform a color as possible. In this type of grade, a pale color is generally predominant because the selection consists almost exclusively of sapwood, which is the outermost and younger part of the tree. The variation in color will therefore be very limited.
This type of grade guarantees a hole- and knot-free floor.
The average length of the boards is approximately 40 inches. Shorter boards will never be shorter than 12 inches.
